Being able to carry your progress over between platforms has been highly requested by Apex Legends players who play the game on every platform, including consoles, PC, Switch, and Mobile. Here’s everything we know about cross-progression in Apex Legends.
In 2022, Apex Legends is available to play on everything from Steam to the Nintendo Switch, therefore cross-progression is becoming more and more desirable to players. Unfortunately, cross-progression in the game is still not available – although cross-play is available between all platforms.
Cross-progression would let you connect your account across different platforms and allow you to seamlessly access unlocked content from one device to the next, so you wouldn’t have to start a new account for each device.
Players are still eager for this feature, so, here’s everything we know about the potential of cross-progression coming to Apex Legends.

Is there cross-progression in Apex Legends?
Right now, cross-progression is not available for Apex Legends between PC and Console.
However, players on PC do have cross-progression on the PC platform alone. If you originally played Apex on Origin, you can link your account to Steam account and carry your progress over. Similarly, you can carry your progress from previous console generations (e.g. PS4 to PS5).
But, the same cannot be said for cross-progression between PlayStation 4/5 and the Xbox lineup of consoles, or Nintendo Switch. There is no way to transfer your Apex Legends account between these different platforms. This is unlike Apex’s competitors Warzone and Fortnite, which have full cross-platform progression.
Respawn said the reason for this is because it was “easier (to implement cross-progression) with Steam because it’s at launch,” unlike merging saves between Xbox and PlayStation accounts seeing as “users may have multiple accounts to merge or use,” according to former Game Director Chad Grenier.
This is a glaring omission for one of the most popular battle royales on the market. And it isn’t lost on the developers, either.
When is cross-progression coming to Apex Legends?
Cross-progression is now delayed, Respawn has confirmed. Despite previously stating that cross-progression would be added in 2022, this won’t be happening now.

At the Season 15 press event, game director Evan Nikolich said they still “definitely” want to add cross-progression, but it is very technically challenging, meaning they cannot commit to a release date.
So, the seasonal cross-progression tweet:
No, cross-progression is not coming in Season 15.

Maybe next year 😐

Respawn has touched on the topic of cross-progression on a number of occasions and confirmed that Apex Legends will have cross-progression in the future.
Development of the feature was apparently delayed in 2021 due to a series of hacks on Titanfall and Apex Legends, according to Grenier. In a Reddit AMA in August 2021, though, Apex Legends’ former director of communications Ryan K. Rigney noted that cross-progression is coming “next year” (2022) – but this has not been kept to.
“Cross progression is gnarly as hell in terms of being a problem to solve,” he explained. “It’s not only that you have to solve the technical challenge of merging existing accounts, but there are also legal and contractual issues to navigate with purchasing on other platforms. Different regions have different laws. It’s a mess. But we’re working on it, and we’re committed to delivering it.”
Mobile cross-progression
With Apex Legends Mobile now available worldwide, you may also be wondering if progress and unlocks on the mobile version can be transferred to PC or console.
Unfortunately, because Apex Mobile is a standalone game, separate from the game on PC and console, there is no cross-play or cross-progression available.
